Artigianino in Turino

Massimiliano D’Agostino

Turin/Torino has been home to artisans for centuries. Architects, artists, designers, musicians, dancers, make this city a mecca for those that love to live well and the historic quartier with its cobble stone streets, sidewalk coffee shops and cafes are enveloped with a joie de vivre.

Massimiliano D’Agostino was born in Rome on Tiber Island in the heart of the city. He studied psychology at university and then worked in the cinema as an Assistant Director and Casting Director. In 2011 he proposed to Davide Rossi and his wife Alessia Dori, founders of the Artisan in Rome to open a store in Torino, and now the smell of fine-crafted leather products emanates from Via San Tommaso 9.

In addition to Artigianino Torino, Massimillano is working on writing the screenplay for his first feature film (after many short films, video clips and documentaries).

His wife, Giovanna is his partner in life, love and business. She graduated from the Brera Academy of Fine Arts and began working as an assistant costume designer in film and TV.  In 2023, she directed her first film as a costume designer, "Folle d'Amore" by Roberto Faenza.

In 2014, I met Massimiliano in Torino. Due to his passion and enthusiasm, I was inspired to begin The Best of Italia and its original purpose, i.e., to promote Italian Artisans and their crafts.
